Feed & Grain magazine reports:

Rockford, IL — U.S. crop exports to China are picking up after months of stalled trade, with at least six bulk carriers scheduled to load soybeans at Gulf Coast terminals through mid-December and a seventh vessel already en route — the first shipment since May.

The renewed activity follows October trade talks between Presidents Donald Trump and Xi Jinping, though Beijing has not confirmed the White House’s claim that it vowed to buy 12 million metric tons of U.S. soy by year-end.

Chinese buyers booked nearly 2 million metric tons of soybeans in November for the 2025/26 marketing year, USDA data shows, but overall volumes remain well below pre-trade-war levels as futures prices hover near five-year lows.

U.S. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said the administration expects to finalize a trade deal with China this week and will announce a new farm aid package next week for producers hurt by low prices and prolonged uncertainty.
