Ag Equipment Intelligence reports:
John Deere announced its first Brazilian Technology Development Center, its first development and test center “for tropical agriculture” in the world. The company will invest $36.5 million (180 million BRL) and the goal is to create and validate new products for grain, cane and special crops production.
The new facility will have 5.3 million square feet and will be located in Indaiatuba, in the state of Sao Paulo.
Development is expected to begin in 2023 and will be finished by the end of next year. Deere expects that, between engineers and researchers, 150 workers will be employed in the facility.
Deere estimates it will reduce its development time of new solutions by up to 40%. Two of the products developed locally by the company are the CH950 sugarcane harvester and the S400 combine.
