BrownfieldAgNews reports:
Demand for biodiesel and renewable diesel surged higher in 2024.
Jeff Earl with Clean Fuels Alliance America says states continue to prioritize renewable fuel policies to help grow clean fuel use.
“We saw Nebraska become the fourth state to pass a low-carbon fuel standard, which is a significant win for our industry. We also saw several other states either expand upon or see the results of their policies that they’ve passed previously to really show that renewable fuels are growing in their states.”
He tells Brownfield the U.S. is on pace to surpass five billion gallons of biodiesel and renewable diesel consumption for the first time.
“California, our number one market, is now 75 percent biodiesel and renewable diesel, which is something we’re very proud of. So it was another successful year.”
Earl says new opportunities in the rail and marine industries also helped drive demand.
