The planting pace for U.S. corn and soybeans has made significant advancements over the past week.
The USDA reports that 24% of U.S. corn has been planted, compared to the five-year average of 22%, with 5% of the crop having emerged, which is slightly ahead of the average.
18% of soybeans are planted, compared to the normal rate of 12%.
49% of U.S. winter wheat is rated good to excellent, up 4% on the week, with 27% of the crop headed, compared to 22% in most recent years.
30% of spring wheat is planted, compared to 21% typically this time of year, with 5% emerged, in-line with the usual pace.
15% of cotton is planted, slightly ahead of the five-year average.
64% of rice is planted and 42% has emerged, both ahead of the average pace.
21% of sorghum is planted, just ahead of the 5-year average of 19%.
54% of sugarbeets have been planted, well ahead of the 5-year average.
