Lenexa, Kan. – Farm Journal has acquired the Moving Iron Summit and Moving Iron podcast. Casey Seymour, Moving Iron’s co-founder, will take on the role of general manager, machinery, which includes the Machinery Pete and Moving Iron brands.
The acquisition and combination of Machinery Pete and Moving Iron create the most powerful source for actionable insight about agricultural equipment in the country. Farm Journal completed the Moving Iron acquisition in January. The company also completed its acquisition of Machinery Pete at that time. Previously, Farm Journal had been a majority investor in Machinery Pete.
“Farm Journal has served both agriculture producers and agriculture equipment dealers for years as a partner in Machinery Pete,” said Prescott Shibles, CEO of Farm Journal. “We are excited to bring the scale of Farm Journal’s production capabilities and audience development to the podcast and conference, and Casey’s expertise and data-driven mindset is a massive addition to Machinery Pete’s marketing and data solutions.”
The Moving Iron Summit will be hosted Sept. 24-26 at the JW Marriott in Austin, Texas. The conference will feature an enhanced program from previous events. Geared toward agricultural machinery business professionals from around the world, the program will provide current and future industry trends, economic and weather outlooks for the coming year and sales and marketing best practices.
Beyond speakers and dealer-led breakout sessions, the Moving Iron Summit provides an invaluable opportunity to make connections and build relationships by networking with other dealers. It has become a must-attend industry event. Sponsorships are available for industry partners and registration for attendees will be open in April.
Greg Peterson, the most trusted name in farm equipment, has also joined forces with Seymour on the “Moving Iron Podcast.” Relaunched last week, the video podcast focuses on the trends and market forces impacting the price of new and used farm equipment. New episodes of the “Moving Iron Podcast” will be released each Thursday morning and can be found on AgWeb.com, Farm Journal’s YouTube channel, and all major podcast platforms including Spotify, Apple and Google Play.
The acquisitions of Moving Iron and Machinery Pete continue Farm Journal’s aggressive expansion into the agricultural technology and equipment sectors. Last year Farm Journal expanded its Smart Farming franchise that focuses on emerging ag technologies to empower farmers and ranchers to enable precise, efficient and sustainable production of food, protein, feed and fiber.
