Following a joint meeting on July 23, 2025, the Boards of Directors of Mercer Landmark, Sunrise Cooperative, and Centerra Cooperative are pleased to announce their collective decision to further explore the potential value of unifying operations across the three cooperatives.
This strategic initiative represents an early step in a collaborative process to assess how a unified cooperative could bring enhanced value to members, strengthen employee opportunities, and create long-term sustainability for agriculture across Ohio and the surrounding region.
Exploring a Unified Future
The discussion among board members underscored the strong alignment in culture, values, and commitment to member success across all three organizations. It was determined that a unified cooperative could potentially offer substantial advantages, including greater access to resources, improved services, and stronger competitive positioning for the future. While no final decisions have been made, the three cooperatives will now engage in a deeper evaluation of the opportunity, including financial analysis, member value impact, and organizational integration planning. The goal is to be thorough, transparent, and member-focused throughout the process.
Commitment to Transparency and Member Engagement
Each cooperative is informing its membership and employee base today of this exploration initiative. As discussions progress, updates will be shared regularly. Members and employees will be provided with ample opportunities to engage, ask questions, and offer feedback as part of the process.
