2024 pork exports have shown the ongoing strength of U.S. pork in global markets and highlighted areas of continued opportunity for growth.
June Highlights:
Korea: Exports increased 20% to 17,327 mt, with a 30% increase in value to $64.2 million. U.S. market share in Korea rose from 26% to 38%.
Central America: Exports grew 2% to 10,371 mt, with a 14% increase in value to $34.3 million.
Mexico: Exports were down 3% to 83,007 mt, but value was up 4% to $187.4 million. January-June exports were up 6% in volume and 13% in value.
Caribbean: Exports increased 14% to 8,408 mt, with a 19% rise in value to $25.8 million. There was significant growth in the Dominican Republic and Cuba.
Colombia: Exports fell 17% to 7,612 mt, with a 7% drop in value to $22.2 million in June. However, shipments to Colombia remained on a record pace through June, climbing 33% in volume and 44% in value.
Malaysia: Exports were up 24% to 576 mt in June, with a 18% increase in value to $1.8 million. January-June exports reached a record 4,065 mt (up 50%) and $12.6 million (up 43%). Malaysia continues to emerge as a promising destination for U.S. pork.
