A successful hunt for the best tenderloin in the State of Iowa. Cliffs Place in Manning is where you’ll find it, congratulations to owners Jim and Jon Waterbury as the winners of the 2023 Iowa’s Best Breaded Pork Tenderloin contest.
It’s a prestigious honor from the Iowa Pork Producers Association and the runner up is the Roadhouse in Orange City. Of course, this happens during October every year, aka Porktober, Pork Month here in the largest pork producing state where Dr. David Newman, Senior Vice President of Market Growth, and a producer himself with the National Pork Board, says all activities focus around promoting that famous pork flavor and also the nutritional, health, and wellness benefits of consuming pork.
“Pork has its own unique flavor that people choose to eat it, and so that is a huge key talking point for us. And it has been for a long time.”
At the same time we talk about flavor, he says, it’s important to additionally focus on nutrition.
