Top Three Issues In Audits
90% percent of audit corrections are for common issues.
By controlling the entire process, PRM can help prevent these issues before an audit occurs.
Issue
In late 2022, Precision Risk Management received a letter from the Risk Management Agency (RMA) where they completed an Improper Payments Elimination and Recovery Improvement Act (IPERIA) review on a PRM customer. RMA stated the customer received $30,000 in Indemnity Overpayment which resulted in a $7,000 Premium Overstatement. The agency asked for the customer to refund $23,000 of their Prevent Plant (PP) claim. They stated the customer was ineligible for a PP payment on their operationโs recently added land.
Compliance Center Actions to Protect Customer
PRMโs Compliance Center jumped into action to protect the customer. Working as a team, the Compliance Center and Risk Management Advisor investigated the whole story to find truth of the unique situation. The Compliance Centerโs background research showed the customer had been involved in the land for close to two decades. This evidence was sent to the Risk Management Agency defending the customer and asking for a reversal in their audit.
Resolution
After a reexamination of the evidence PRM provided, RMA reversed their decision of the $23,000 PP payment refund.
The IPERIA review was closed with no further action needed.
